The dedication and determination in my peers prevails as flourishing Music majors. I wish I could recognize each person individually for their phenomenal efforts, but the list would be far too long. These individuals play a vital role in the success of Florida Atlantic University’s record label, Hoot/Wisdom Recordings. A little-known, interesting fact about FAU’s Hoot/Wisdom is that they were nominated for two Latin Grammy Awards. The project was recorded and sculpted by the wonderful talents that are our student body in the Music program.

Accomplishments such as this are possible because of the quality exposure our Music program offers. Through Hoot/Wisdom Recordings, open mic nights are held bi-weekly at The Burrow (between the Cafeteria and Student Union) – a place I have visited many times as a spectator and a few others as a performer. I made numerous connections relative to my interests thanks to FAU’s music program. Currently, I play bass in a band called Chasing Sunsets; we recently performed at FAU Phi Mu Bonnamu 2018. We will perform in future collegiate events to solidify our presence as we seek greater goals. Exposure is key in the music world, and Hoot/Wisdom Recordings does everything to showcase FAU’s talent. Additionally, they also offer the opportunity to send demos to the Label. Students signed to the Record Label have access to state-of-the-art equipment in studio.

Hoot/Wisdom Recordings welcomes all talent at FAU! Don’t feel distant because you aren’t in the music program; all FAU students are able to participate. What are you waiting for? Come on over to Hoot/Wisdom Recordings and be heard!
